The annual Rippleton Cookbook recipe submission has begun. This year's theme is Cooking with Family.
Click on the link below to view the flyer and learn how to enter recipes and be part of this year's cookbook.
You can enter as many recipes as you would like, you can write your name as the author, you can write your child's name or you can even leave it blank!
Perhaps your children can remind you of a recipe they helped you make.
Remember, the cookbook will not go to print unless we have 80 recipes or more!
Thank you Rippleton families.

Dance-a-Thon Fun
Last week, on Friday February 14th, 2014, the Dance-a-Thon fundraising event was held at our school. Students, teachers, staff and several parents spent much of their day dancing!
There was a lot to be grateful for: the smiles on the students' faces, the positive remarks from many staff members, and the opportunity to witness dancing talents among our students and staff!
We at Rippleton are especially fortunate and grateful for all the supportive parents we have. So much time and effort went into making this day a success; we only hope that the volunteer parents had some dancing fun during their long shifts of morning, lunch and afternoon duty.

Three Things You Missed at the Last RAPT Meeting
On Tuesday January 14, 2014, the first RAPT meeting of 2014 was held at the library. Our Principal, Susan, two teachers, Pela, the daycare representative, RAPT members and a few parents joined the meeting.
We had snacks, shared ideas and reported on various events and information.
If you did not join us, you missed an hour of information and planning for Rippleton school!
Here are three things you missed:
1. Generously provided by the Rippleton Roadsters Daycare, cameras and buzzers will be installed on the two back entrances of the school: the parking lot doors and the playground doors.
2. Due to the increased number of students and the increased number of illegal parking in the school's parking lot, it was decided that a parking traffic committee is required to ease the flow and ensure the safety of our children. The committee will be meeting soon to plan the first step towards a safer and more organized drop-off and pick-uptime.
3. Phase two of the Master Plan for the school's grounds is in progress. Nine new trees were installed recently in the school's field; work on the walking trail and sprint trail and installation of two tri-basketball hoops for the younger grades, and one additional basketball hoop is expected to be completed in the near future.
We hope you will join us at the next RAPT meeting on Feb. 19th. You will have a chance to chat with parents, ask questions and learn more about Rippleton.

Three Things You Missed at the Last RAPT Meeting
TDSB is planting a few trees at our school by the end of this school year. The school will need volunteers to water the trees over the summer. The young trees need to be watered weekly, otherwise they will not survive the summer. The janitors at our school will supply the hose for watering, and help us as needed. If you are able to help out for one or two weeks during the summer, please let RAPT or Ms. Adaskin know.
The teachers and students raised a monetary donation to help the Philippines through their crisis. Thank you to all the staff, parents and students for heir generous donations.
The Prologue performance, Tribal Vision, was a great success. As always, the students enjoyed the performance, which was funded by parents' donations to the school through RAPT. Their will be one more performance later this year.
